Will there be a sequel to WHERE YOU SEE YOURSELF?I wrote Where You See Yourself as a standalone novel. While I would never say never to creative inspiration, I am currently working on other projects, and am not planning a return to Effie's world anytime soon.

Can I get a signed copy of your book?As you can imagine, shipping books can be a time consuming endeavor. To compensate, I offer signed bookplates for free to U.S. and international readers, which you can access using this form. I do occasionally sign stock at bookstores or sign copies at events. The best way to know about these happenings is by following me on Instagram or signing up for my newsletter.

Will you visit my classroom, library program, student bookclub, etc.?For all inquiries on author visits, please contact my publisher via this form. Thank you!

For parents/guardians: What ages can read WHERE YOU SEE YOURSELF? Are there content warnings? My publisher recommends Where You See Yourself for ages 12 and up. For a detailed review that brings up content warnings, check out this overview from Common Sense Media, who named the book a Common Sense Teen Selection.

I'd love to discuss writing, disability, etc. one-on-one with you. Can we meet?I love meeting and connecting with readers. Due to personal privacy and time constraints, I only meet readers at my public events. You are always welcome to email me using my contact form. If I am not able to respond, please do not take it personally. Thank you for your understanding.

How did you get your agent? Can you give feedback on my manuscript or query letter?I connected with my wonderful agent through the old fashioned traditional query process. I talk a bit about what that experience was like in this video. I am not able to provide personalized feedback on manuscripts or query letters. However, I highly recommend Writing Irresistible Kidlit by Mary Kole and Story Genius by Lisa Kron. The Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis offers excellent writing classes in-person and virtually on a variety of topics and all career stages. Receiving my MFA in Creative Writing from Hamline MFAC was invaluable in writing the early versions of Where You See Yourself. My go-to recommendations for querying writers are Manuscript Wishlist (MSWL), QueryTracker, and The Complete Guide to Query Letters by Jane Friedman. Good luck!

Is WHERE YOU SEE YOURSELF autobiographical? While I have cerebral palsy and use a wheelchair like Effie, Effie's story is made up and does not mirror my life story. I pulled some experiences and feelings from my real life, as any writer does. However, Effie is not a stand-in for me and the story is fictional. Please note that I do not speak in depth about my family or my personal life during interviews or public events. Thank you for respecting my privacy.

When is your next book coming out?I am currently working on a new contemporary young adult novel with Scholastic. It is not related to Where You See Yourself. When I have more information on a release date, you will be the first to know!
-
Will you appear on my podcast/blog/YouTube channel?Thank you for thinking of me. Please reach out using my contact form.

Can I ask you questions about accessibility, or how to make the world easier for disabled people?I do occasionally speak about this in interviews, which you can Google. I much prefer to talk about my book. Some of my favorite disability activists to follow do a great job talking about this, including but not limited to Imani Barbarin, Andrew Garza, Alice Wong, Emily Ladau, Catarina Rivera, and so many more. Please follow and support their work!

What is your favorite Taylor Swift song?I'm so glad you asked. It's State of Grace (Taylor's Version, duh.) My favorite albums are Red, Folklore, and 1989 or reputation, depending on the day.
